JustGiving is the official fundraising platform for Brighton Half Marathon – for the second year running

Charity places are now open for one of the south east’s biggest running events – Brighton Half Marathon and JustGiving has been confirmed as the official fundraising platform, for the second year running.

In the first year of their partnership, JustGiving, along with other fundraising platforms, helped Brighton Half Marathon raise over £1million, resulting in an impressive 17 per cent increase in funds raised compared to 2019.

Since its establishment over three decades ago, the Brighton Half Marathon has helped raise a considerable amount of money for a host of worthy causes and charities.

The race takes place on Sunday 25 February 2024, one of the first major races of the year, marking the beginning of the running year for many.

The Brighton Half Marathon is organised by Brighton-based HIV charity The Sussex Beacon and, as a charity-organised event, charity partners are essential to the identity of the marathon, with charity runners typically forming 20 per cent of the race field.

Pascale Harvie, President and General Manager of JustGiving said: ‘We’re thrilled to be the official fundraising partner for the Brighton Half Marathon for the second year in a row.

“More than 150 charities partnered with us this year for the event which helped raise more than £1million and we’re excited to continue to help individuals raise funds the causes and charities closest to them.”

Martin Harrigan, Race Director of the Brighton Half Marathon, said: “We are delighted to have Just Giving as our official fundraising partner. The platform is incredibly user friendly and allows our runners and their friends and families to support a wide range of fantastic charities with ease.”

With crowds of up to 30,000 across the route on race day and dedicated, charity-focussed promotion on radio, TV web, social media – as well as the event’s 40,000 email subscribers – the Brighton Half Marathon is a great event to raise money and awareness for charities and using the official fundraising platform, JustGiving, can help reach those all-important targets.
